SMPTE Time-Stamped Transcripts

         Time-Stamped Transcript Every 30-Seconds

SMTPE time-stamped transcripts enable you to track the speech in an audio transcript with high precision. Using this technique, we will insert a time code at the start of the specific part of the audio and at the end. For instance, if we are transcribing a Q&A session, a time-code will be inserted at the start and a time-code at the end.

Example –

Q – Can you comment how this strategy is going to help the company?

+++ Video – Earning’s Call – 00:34:26 +++

A – We will expanding organically into newer geographies by making strategic acquisitions

For normal transcription, it is fairly easy to insert time-stamps. The margin of error is of +/- 3 seconds in such cases. A precisely edited audio file can be time-stamped with precision, thus we recommend sending us edited files for time-stamped transcription jobs. We can edit the file for you at a nominal charge of $10 should the need arise.

In case of unstructured audio streams, like group talk transcriptions, it is hard to identify the speaker and insert time-codes. For such jobs, we simply insert a time-code after every 30-second gap, which later can be utilized by you to identify the speaker accurately.

Many times, edited interview snippets are sent to us for time-stamped transcription jobs. We may not be able to insert the time-codes accurately under such circumstance because we do not have the precise start and stop time of the entire interview. Moreover, we can insert a time-stamp only if the joined snippets have 3 seconds delay in between them and 1KHz tone marking. For such transcription jobs, we simply insert a time-stamp after every 30-seconds.

How are Time-Stamped Transcripts Charged?

Time-stamping can be done only for certain type of transcription jobs. Depending on the class of transcription, you will be charged in a pre-determined manner.

SLP VHS tapes time-stamp transcribing will be charged additionally at the rate of $0.25 per minute.

Turnaround Time

As time-stamping is a time consuming process, apart from standard job completing time, an additional business day would be required to complete the job satisfactorily.
